What is the expectation of a first time guest at Ingleside?
Just come be our welcome guest! We have first time guest parking reserved for you right by the main entrance. You will find greeters who will welcome you and others into our buildings. If you need specific info, questions or directions, a greeter at one of our information desks will be glad to serve you. We won’t draw attention to you or make you feel uncomfortable. Everything you will need to follow along during the worship service will be in the bulletin that you will receive or on the screens in the room.
Why are there stores located inside the Gathering Area at Ingleside?
Several years ago when we built the current Worship Center and Gathering Area, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for people in our community to get the resources they need to become fully devoted followers of Christ. The Chapter 2 Bookstore exists not only to reach out to new people in our community, but also to further develop our church body in discipleship and equip our church leaders for ministry. We’ve discovered that being able to supply a resource to someone while the need is fresh on their minds provides great benefit and fruitfulness in their spiritual life.
The Gathering Area at Ingleside also houses the Cornerstone Cafe which provides premium Starbucks coffee beverages. This provides a relaxed environment that has proven to be a fantastic connect point for many first time guests at Ingleside. You would be surprised what a caffe latte can do to break down barriers when Inglesiders offer friendship to visitors in the cafe.
Where is the church office located, and what are the normal hours?
Our church office is located in Building E, adjacent to the Gathering Area. Park in the west parking lot by the lake (closest to Forest Hill Road). You will see a placard on the wall showing you where to enter the building. Our regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Call us at 478.477.7251 if you have any questions.
What is the best way for me to get connected to life at Ingleside Baptist Church?
Our monthly Discovering Ingleside Membership class is the best way to find out all about our church and to learn how to get connected here. A short answer to your question is to worship, study and serve. Ingleside offers a variety of ways to connect with God and with others who are seeking Him. Most make their first connection at Ingleside by participating in one of our worship services (at 8:30 a.m., 9:40 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.). The next step to connect with the Lord and other Christ-followers is to participate in a Bible study class or small group. We greatly enhance our spiritual growth when we gather with other Christ-followers to study God’s Word and to offer and receive ongoing encouragement, support and accountability. If you’ve begun attending a worship service, take the next step and get in a small group or Bible study class. The next way to connect to Ingleside and others is to find a place of ministry. When we serve alongside others our connection to God, His church and others grows!
How can I serve on a ministry team at Ingleside?
Ingleside offers a wide array of ways to serve the Lord. You may consider serving as a volunteer…
- with preschoolers, children, middle school students, high school students, college students, singles, couples, young adults, median-aged adults, senior adults
- on a welcome team, greeting worshipers, driving a golf cart, at an information desk
- behind the scenes helping with grounds and maintenance, or on a production team running sound or video
- in the choir, band, orchestra or praise team
- in recreation ministry, our church library, bookstore or cafe
As you can see, the possibilities are nearly limitless. If you have a heart to serve, we will be glad to help you be equipped to serve on an Ingleside ministry team. Some serving opportunities have more requirements than others, so be sure to check out the current opportunities for more detailed information.
When and how did the church get started?
Check out the Ingleside History page for an overview of how the church got started and when!
What form of government does Ingleside operate under?
The governance structure of Ingleside is summarized as: Under the Lordship of Christ, at Ingleside we are congregationally governed, led by the senior pastor and staff, accountable to the board of overseers, to mobilize every member in ministry to accomplish God’s purposes for our church.
Worship Services (top FAQ menu)
Can I get a recording of the worship service or message?
Yes. Ingleside offers an audio and video podcast of the sermon that can be subscribed to via the sermon player on this site or through iTunes. The weekend sermons are available immediately after each service on CD (compact disk) at the information desk in the Lower Gathering Area or in the Chapter 2 Bookstore for $4.00. If you would like to request CD copies of a message or series, you may do so by submitting your request through the online order form. A member of our team will contact you when your request is received. At this time we do not offer the music portion of our services for distribution.
Why does Ingleside offer three services and two different styles of music in the worship services?
Options. We realize that schedules (work, school, family and travel) are now more complex and demanding than they once were. And, to have options – three different service times every Sunday – opens the door to some who could not otherwise participate. We know from Scripture that the Father “seeks” worshipers (John 4:23). By having three services with two styles each Sunday, we increase the possibility of attracting more worshipers – and we know that will bring glory to God!
Heart language. We have also learned that worship is usually more authentic and expressive when it is offered in our native tongue – our own “musical heart language.” So, whether your spirit soars to the traditional sounds of a pipe organ, hymns, and choral anthems (8:30 a.m. service), or with a unique Ingleside blend that includes a choir, vocal teams, a band, an orchestra, and a variety of song choices (9:40 and 11:00 a.m. services), you can find two different “musical heart languages” at Ingleside every Sunday.
The Apostle Paul put it this way: “I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings” (1 Corinthians 9:22-23, ESV). By offering different “musical heart languages” we anticipate reaching more people with the gospel—and that brings great glory to God!
Making disciples for God’s glory. Scripture is clear that Jesus drew large crowds, and from those crowds called men and women to be his disciples. We are following his example. As our “crowd” of worshipers grows, more people are likely to hear His call to become His “disciple.” Making disciples—as many as we can, as mature as we can—brings great glory to God!
What time should I show up for a worship service?
If you have an infant or preschooler, we recommend you show up 15 minutes before the service so you can register your child in our safe and well supervised preschool ministry area. We recommend everyone come at least a few minutes early so you can find parking, enjoy a free cup of coffee or visit with friends before the service begins.
How should I dress?
It’s really up to you; it’s not a big deal to us. A few will be really dressed up, a few will be really dressed down, but most will be casual and comfortable, somewhere in between.
Can my kids come?
Definitely. However, our main services are planned and the message prepared primarily with students and adults in mind. Many families have discovered that their children grow much deeper in our Kids Worship services (more information about Kids Ministry).
What should I plan to do with regard to tithing (offering)?
As a first-time visitor to Ingleside, you are our guest. We don’t expect you to contribute in the offering. Our members and regular attenders give joyfully and generously to support the work of the Lord here. As our guest, just complete and turn in the communication card provided in the seat backs in the Worship Center.
Does Ingleside offer a podcast of the sermon? What about the music?
Ingleside offers an audio and video podcast of the sermon that can be subscribed to via the sermon player on this site or through iTunes. Direct RSS feeds are also available:
- All: http://sermon.net/rss/ingleside/main
- Audio only: http://sermon.net/rss/ingleside/main/audio
- Video only: http://sermon.net/rss/ingleside/main/video
At this time we do not offer the music portion of our services for distribution.
Is the sermon and/or music available on CD or DVD?
The weekend sermons are available immediately after each service on CD (compact disk) at the information desk in the Lower Gathering Area or in the Chapter 2 Bookstore for $4.00. At this time we do not offer the music portion of our services for distribution.
May I record the worship service on my own personal device?
Copyright laws prohibit the unauthorized recording of most of the musical content in our worship services at Ingleside. However, you may record portions of the worship service that do not include copyrighted content. Examples of such content are: baptisms, baby dedications and other recognitions. These are ok to record on your personal device, and Ingleside usually encourages attendees to do “whatever” (within reason) to get the best picture of your loved one. More information about copyright law can be found here.
May I take pictures during the service?
Ingleside usually encourages attendees to do “whatever” (within reason) to get the best picture of your loved one during occasions like baby dedications. At other times, flash photography or moving around that would be a distraction is prohibited.
Does Ingleside broadcast the service on television?
No. Ingleside does not broadcast any service on television. A video podcast is available online via the sermon player on the site or through iTunes.
I am in a wheelchair. Are there spaces for me to sit with my family or friends?
Our Worship Center has 20 wheelchair accessible spaces. 12 are available at the floor level, and 8 are available at the terrace level. Each space is close to other seating so there should be plenty of space for family or friends to accompany you to any service. Our Chapel, which houses our traditional service at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday and Midweek adult service at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, also has ample seating options for persons in wheelchairs. Our greeters will happily escort you to a good, safe space.
Will the same video content be used in the Chapel’s traditional service as in the other services in the main Worship Center?
Video content in our worship services is used to support the sermon or theme of each of our services. If a video can do this in a given service, then it will be used. Videos used within a sermon will be able to be shown in the Chapel and in the Worship Center. The message will be the same in each of the three worship service options.
Is the same message presented by the same pastor at each service?
Yes! The preacher and biblical message will be the same in each of the services. The main difference will be in the “musical heart language” that characterizes each service.
Who normally speaks on Sundays?
Tim McCoy, the senior pastor at Ingleside, speaks almost every Sunday of the year. There are times when other pastors on our team will deliver the message and times when we have a guest speaker from outside of our staff team.
Does Ingleside ever host concerts?
Yes. Our own worship team presents concerts periodically as well as leads special worship weekends and events at times like Christmas and Easter. We also host well known Christian artists periodically. Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, NewSong, Ballet Magnificat! and a host of others have performed in our Worship Center. If you are a tour manager and would like to contact Ingleside about hosting a concert or event, email our music ministry office or call 478.477.7251.
What is worship?
What or who we worship is, simply put, what or who we value most highly. Every person worships something or someone. The Bible is our authority on what worship really is and it clearly describes what worship should be for you and me. His glory, fame and renown ought to be our deepest desire. God receives glory and worship from us when we center the attention of our mind and the affection of our heart on Him, realizing that He alone is of highest value.

Membership Services (top FAQ menu)
Why is membership important?
Church membership…
- helps identify me as a genuine Christ-follower.
- provides a spiritual family to support and encourage me in my walk with Christ.
- gives a place for me to discover and use my spiritual gifts and talents in ministry.
- places me under the spiritual authority of godly leaders.
- gives me the accountability I need to grow in Christ.
- pleases God!
At Ingleside, we believe that church membership matters!
What does membership indicate?
Membership reveals my commitment to Christ and a particular local church. Membership says, “You can count on me. I’m ‘all-in.’ I’m ready to be a part of the team.”
What are the prerequisites to becoming a member at Ingleside?
To become a member at Ingleside you must: (1) personally trust Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord; (2) be baptized by immersion (under the water) as a believer as a symbol of your salvation; and (3) complete our Discovering Ingleside Membership class (offered monthly). Check the calendar for upcoming class dates.
Baptism
Why does Ingleside baptize people?
We baptize because Jesus commanded it. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus said, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” We baptize to be obedient to Christ.
Who can be baptized?
Anyone who has repented of their sin (Acts 2:38; 3:19) and placed their faith in Christ as Savior and Lord (Acts 8:12-13; Ephesians 2:8).
When can I get baptized?
You can get baptized at most of our worship services. If you are interested in scheduling a baptism, contact our membership ministry office or call 478.477.7251.
Can I get baptized in the lake at Ingleside?
Yes! We routinely baptize Christ-followers in “Lake Ingleside” during the outdoor worship service at our summer church picnic.
Will an Ingleside pastor baptize me at home?
No. We believe baptism is designed to be a public profession of faith in Christ. At Ingleside, we baptize when the church family is gathered for worship.
What is the membership process?
Please visit our membership page.
Do you offer pre-engagement or pre-marital counseling?
Yes. The decision of if or who you will marry is one of the most significant decisions in life. It is very wise to take your time in making such a major decision that will affect the rest of your life. Good pre-engagement or pre-marital counseling will help clarify and solidify your spiritual commitments, identify strengths and weaknesses in your relationship and offer helpful tools to make your marriage the best it can be. More than anything, it helps you get started in a way that honors God. Virtually every couple who walks through the process tells of the great value it is in their lives. To find out about how to get started with pre-engagement or pre-marital counseling, contact our membership ministry office or call 478.477.7251.

Discipleship (top FAQ menu)
Why does Ingleside Baptist Church have both Bible study classes and small groups?
We believe that community happens in many sizes and styles. Bible study classes offer an open door and a medium sized venue to gather and study the Bible together. Small groups offer a more intimate feel and usually consist of less than a dozen people. We don’t expect everyone to be involved in both a Bible study class and a small group; however, we recognize that God’s Word teaches us to “build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11) and that is best done when people get to know each other outside of the larger church gatherings. To find a group that fits you, use our group finder tool.
What is an adult Bible study?
What many places refer to as, “Sunday school,” “Bible fellowship groups,” or, “discipleship groups,” we simply call, “adult Bible study classes.” Each Sunday, medium sized groups gather before or after a worship service to connect with each other and study the Bible. These groups are open to everyone.
How would I benefit from participating in an adult Bible study?
An adult Bible study class provides a place to learn from God’s Word and connect with others who are seeking to apply those lessons to everyday life. It’s easy to get lost in the crowd. In a class, you have the opportunity to be welcomed into a group designed to encourage one another, pray for one another and live life with one another.
When do these adult Bible study classes meet?
There are a variety of classes that meet at various times and locations around our campus—mostly before or after a worship service. To find a group that fits you, use our group finder tool. You can also stop by an information desk on Sunday and someone will be glad to talk with you personally about several class options.
How do I find the right class?
We have classes for people in many different ages or life stages. Whether you are male, female, single, married, parents of preschoolers or empty nesters, there is a place for you. In fact, there might be several classes where you could connect based on some of these factors. We encourage you to visit more than one class over a span of several weeks to find the best fit for you and then commit wholeheartedly to the class you choose. To find a group that fits you, use our group finder tool. You can also stop by an information desk on Sunday and someone will be glad to talk with you personally about several class options.
What is a small group?
A small group is very similar to a class in its goal but with some key differences in method. A small group is a group that is committed to meeting together consistently to grow closer to God and to each other. These groups highly value personal relationships and spiritual accountability. Small groups offer a more intimate feel and usually consist of less than a dozen people.
When do adult small groups meet?
Small groups meet at multiple times throughout the week. To find a group that fits you, use our group finder tool.
How would I benefit from participating in a small group?
Small groups challenge participants to grow spiritually through interactive Bible study and deeper relationships with one another. You can expect small group members to have a high expectation for commitment to one another.
How do I begin to participate in a small group?
Groups are intentionally launched at various times throughout the year as part of special studies or initiatives. In addition, many of our groups are open to new participants as spaces become available. To find a group that fits you, use our group finder tool. You can also contact the discipleship ministry office or call 478.477.7251 if you would like to receive information about small group opportunities as they become available.
What is a fellowship event?
From time to time groups (large or small) will get together to do something fun like go to a sporting event, eat or attend an event. These are great times for many smaller groups to network and socialize with others who have similar interests and are in similar life stages.
What kinds of groups are there?
To find a group that fits you, use our group finder tool. You can search by group size or format, topic, meeting time, location or life stage.
Is childcare provided for each group meeting?
Sometimes. Depending on many factors, childcare may or may not be available. Our group finder tool will show a green check mark beside group options where childcare is provided. Contact the discipleship ministry office or call 478.477.7251 if you would like to ask a specific question related to childcare for small groups or Bible study classes.
When and where do groups meet?
Some groups meet on the Ingleside campus and some meet off campus or in homes. Use our group finder tool to search for groups on or off campus.
How often do groups meet?
Most groups decide to meet once a week. However, some groups meet less frequently.
How long do classes usually last? How long do small groups last?
This depends on the particular study. If you are attending a Bible study class, the times are posted in the promotions for that class. A listing can be found on our group finder page with more details for each class. Small groups last anywhere from one to two hours.
What does it mean when a group ends?
Some groups are only meant to last for a short term or season. When a group ends there is a possibility for the group to multiply. Ingleside desires to see groups thrive and grow both spiritually and numerically. Multiplying is a great result of a short term group ending!
What do groups study?
Ingleside groups are Bible based, which means the leaders apply the Word of God to life. Some groups use a form of curriculum like a workbook and/or DVD to help teach the group. If you are looking for material to use, Ingleside’s Chapter 2 Bookstore is an essential resource for group study resources. You can contact the discipleship ministry office or call 478.477.7251 if you would like to ask a question about curriculum for an Ingleside group.
How do I join a group?
Some groups are open to join right away, and some groups are considered “full” because the size of the group needs to be kept small. Our group finder tool can help you determine whether or not a group is available to join. If you are interested in communicating with someone about joining or leading a group at Ingleside contact our discipleship ministry office or call 478.477.7251.
What is “Group Finder?”
Group finder is an online tool used to list groups of all sizes at Ingleside. You can find it at the top menu bar of this page under the “Resources” tab. By clicking on “Advanced Search,” you can search by group size or format, topic, meeting time, location or life stage. You may also request to join a group from that page, as well as view and email group leaders, and see if childcare is provided.
Why does the discipleship office offer free periodicals? How can I get one?
The discipleship ministry office provides complimentary magazines in a magazine rack in the Lower Gathering Area at Ingleside. They are available monthly on a first come first served basis. If the rack is not in the Lower Gathering Area, that means there are no more free magazines available for that month.
Missions (top FAQ menu)
What is “missions?”
Jesus gave His disciples some clear directives in Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8. He told them to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching others all the things that He taught. He said that they were to be His witnesses, telling others about Him all over the place…here, there, and everywhere! Those commandments are still true for Christ-followers today, and at Ingleside, we want to make disciples…as many as possible, as mature as possible. We are representatives of Jesus wherever we are…at home, at work, at school. Sometimes we purposely make trips to serve in places where we know there are people who may not have heard the message of Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:20 says we are Christ’s ambassadors to the world.
What kinds of mission projects do you do?
Here
- Community outreach. We have teams that go on a regular basis to share the gospel and serve at the Storehouse Ministry Center, the Youth Development Campus, the Macon Rescue Mission, and the Georgia Industrial Children’s Home.
- Macon Impact. We have local mission and community service days in April and September each year. Small groups and individuals participate in projects all over the city to share God’s love in practical ways.
- Glocal Ministry. Families can befriend an international college student and make a global impact in our local community.
There
- Church planting. We partner with the North American Mission Board to help new church plants in strategic cities in the United States. We have sent mission teams to New York City, Baltimore and Indianapolis in recent years.
- Disaster relief. We send teams to help meet physical needs in the name of Christ when disaster strikes in the United States. We have sent disaster relief and rebuilding teams to New Orleans, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Atlanta and Nashville in recent years.
Everywhere
- Huaylas Quechua People. Ingleside has adopted the Huaylas Quechua people of Northern Peru, a people group that was considered “unreached” a few years ago. We pray for the Huaylas Quechua and send mission teams to them on a regular basis.
- Lima, Peru. International Mission Board missionaries and Ingleside members, Jim and Sherry Neal, serve as church planters among the Marginal Urban Populations of Lima, Peru. We send teams to partner with them to reach the people surrounding Lima with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Ends of the Earth. We partner with the International Mission Board and send volunteer teams to work with their missionaries all over the world. We are ready to go wherever God takes us!
How do I get involved with local missions?
Contact our missions ministry office or call 478.477.7251 to let us know of your interest.
What are the requirements for going on a short-term mission trip?
- Membership at Ingleside.
- Completion of the missions class (offered monthly). View the calendar for upcoming class dates.
- Completion of the missions application.
Are non-members allowed to go on Ingleside mission trips?
Typically, membership at Ingleside is required for participation in mission trips. We occasionally make exceptions if there is a need for a particular skill set that an Ingleside member cannot fill, or if a sister church wants to begin a missions program and they would like to send a few of their members on an Ingleside mission trip to get started. In either case, all team members must be professing Christ-followers who have completed the missions class and the missions application.
What is the missions class?
The missions class is offered monthly in the dining room. We cover information about missions in general and the many ways to be involved through learning, prayer, giving financially, and going on short-term trips or in long-term service. We meet from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and provide dinner for all attendees. Childcare is also provided, and reservations are not required. We would love for all members to go through the missions class to find their niche and be involved.
What is the Acts 1:8 Weekend?
Each year during the first weekend of November, we have a missions conference where missionaries we support come to Ingleside to share how God is at work around the world. The purpose of the Acts 1:8 Weekend is to educate and inspire us toward greater missions understanding and involvement. Guest missionaries are here Friday through Sunday, and we offer many opportunities throughout the weekend for Inglesiders to connect with them. On Sunday, there is a special missions emphasis in worship as well as guest missionary speakers in all on-campus Bible study classes. There is something for everyone!
High School (top FAQ menu)
What is “Across the Street?”
Across the Street is the name of our student center we use primarily for high school ministry. It’s called Across the Street (or ATS for short) because it is in a shopping center literally across Wimbish Road from Ingleside’s main campus. The address for your GPS is 2974 Riverside Drive. Look for a section of the shopping center with big blue swirls on the windows.
What curriculum do you use?
On Sunday mornings our high school pastor applies Biblical principles to everyday life.
On Wednesday nights we use Doug Field’s Simply Youth Ministry Live curriculum.
What are you student-to-leader ratios?
We aim to have 1 leader for every 5-10 students in all of our services and events.
How many volunteers do you have? What do your volunteers do? What is their commitment level?
We usually have around 40 adult volunteers in the high school ministry at Ingleside.
Our volunteer leaders welcome, interact with and engage students, serve refreshments, participate in services, facilitate small group discussion and provide adult presence in student services.
At minimum, we ask our leaders to be regular attendees of our services and events; interacting and engaging students within the ministry. For those who really want to get plugged in, we ask that they find a place to faithfully serve on a weekly basis. Those who lead small groups commit to study the curriculum in preparation to lead students through their weekly breakout sessions.

We do not require parents to volunteer, but we love to see parent involvement. Parents are always welcome to hang out Across the Street during our services or events.

Preschool (top FAQ menu)
Do you require parents to volunteer?
Parents are not required to volunteers but we pray they will be involved with their child in their spiritual development and serve where they feel called.
How are your volunteers screened?
Our One Way leader screening process states that leaders must:
- Be an Ingleside member and have attended the Discovering Ingleside Membership Class
- Attend a One Way volunteer orientation
- Fill out a preschool confidential volunteer application
- Consent to a background check
What is your security procedure?
Each parent and volunteer is issued a security key tag that attaches to your key chain. Without this key tag individuals will not gain access to the preschool floor. We want to insure that only those individuals who need to be on the preschool floor are allowed into areas where preschoolers learn and play. Security greeters are stationed at every entrance and exit and are required to check these key tags. If you forget your tags you will be issued temporary stick on tags for the day. If you try to pick up your child without your tag, you will be asked to show identification. We will not allow any child to leave with an unauthorized adult. Older siblings cannot pick up a preschooler unless they are over 18 years old.
What do I do if my child has an allergy?
Please insure that all volunteers and leaders are aware of your child’s allergy. For severe peanut allergies we have special signs for classroom doors. If an activity requires a special food or item we will always place allergy alert signs on the door for the day to inform parents of these items and ingredients.

We’ll never stop colds or the flu, but we try to make your child’s class an ideal place to catch the joy of Christ!

Therefore, we are committed to providing mothers with the best program and environment for their children. Our program is intentionally designed to have small classes in order for the caregivers to develop relationships with your children.

Resource Centers (top FAQ menu)
The Chapter 2 Bookstore
Why does Ingleside have a bookstore?
Several years ago when we built the current Worship Center and Gathering Area, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for people in our community to get the resources they need to become fully-devoted followers of Christ. The Chapter 2 Bookstore exists not only to reach out to new people in our community, but also to further develop our church body in discipleship and equip our church leaders for ministry. We’ve discovered that supplying a resource while the need is fresh on the minds of people who have been impacted by the Holy Spirit at an Ingleside service is much more fruitful in the spiritual life of those who shop in our bookstore.
When is the Chapter 2 Bookstore open?
The bookstore’s normal hours are:
- Sundays – 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
- Mondays – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesdays – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Wednesdays – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Thursdays – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Fridays – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Saturdays – Closed
Why are Chapter 2 and Cornerstone open on Sundays?
That’s when the most people are here. If our ministry goal is to have the greatest impact on as many people as possible, then it’s wise to be open when the most people are on our campus.
Do I have to be a member to shop in the Chapter 2 Bookstore?
Of course not. We are here for the whole community. You don’t have to go to Ingleside to shop in our store.
What is the frequent buyer program?
If you sign up for the free frequent buyer program, you could save $5.00 every time you purchase $100 of product in the bookstore. That’s like getting and extra 5% off on all purchases! Ask about it next time you are in the bookstore.
Does the bookstore honor manufacturers’ coupons?
Sometimes. Check with our manager before you make a purchase. We usually have great deals on resources in our store. Our sale prices are not offered in conjunction with other offers, discounts and coupons, so you may actually get a better deal choosing our sale over a manufacturer’s coupon.
What is the standard return policy?
We like to have products back within 30 days of the original receipt. Some items are not returnable, and that information will be disclosed to you at the time of purchase. You must have your original receipt in order to make a return at our store. The item must be in new (unused) condition. All return transactions are at the discretion of our manager.
Do I have to pay sales tax in the Chapter 2 Bookstore? What about tax on Bibles?
Yes. Like any other retailer in the state of Georgia, sales tax is charged. In our area, the sales tax totals 6%. Bibles are no longer exempt from sales tax.
Can the Chapter 2 Bookstore imprint names on Bibles?
Not at this time. We can recommend a few places that do. Our Bible prices are competitive because we want to make it easy for everyone to get a great version of God’s Word, so start your Bible search with us!
I need my Bible re-bound. Can the Chapter 2 Bookstore help?
Yes! We work closely with a Bible rebinding company that does superior work. Bring your tattered Bible to us and we will get you a quote on rebinding it.
Why does the Chapter 2 Bookstore stock more than just books?
Books are oftentimes the most powerful resource when it comes to studying God’s Word. More than half of our inventory is strictly books. Our bookstore recognizes that there are many needs in the lives of believers. Some of those being music, movies, audio books, cards and gifts. That’s why the Chapter 2 Bookstore stocks a wide variety of resources. Cards and gifts are especially good tools for reaching out to friends who need encouragement, but aren’t ready to read a big book. Let us recommend something for you today!
Who determines what is stocked in the Chapter 2 Bookstore?
Ingleside’s bookstore ministries coordinator is the main buyer for the Chapter 2 Bookstore.
How do I get my product into the Chapter 2 Bookstore?
The Chapter 2 Bookstore orders directly from publishers, manufacturers and distributors for most all of the product stocked in the store. If you work with this type of company and would like to submit your product to the bookstore ministries coordinator, please contact us at 478.477.2508 or by email. We try to keep our store simple, so it is rare that we accept product that is not carried by a major distributor or publisher.
Does Ingleside do book signings?
Sometimes. If you have a book you would like to submit for consideration, contact us at 478.477.2508 or by email. One important factor we have in choosing books for signing events is how the book fits into the overall ministry theme at Ingleside. Does your book really connect?
Does the Chapter 2 Bookstore sell digital media?
Not currently.
Can you mail packages from the bookstore to me?
We will mail Ingleside products like sermon CDs to you for a small fee.
Can I purchase resources online?
You cannot currently purchase bookstore items from ingleside.org. However, we have a partnership with Christianbook.com where you can browse their entire online store and a percentage of your purchases go to support ministry at Ingleside. Click here to link to Christianbook.com.
Where do I purchase books that are used for small groups and Bible studies?
Visit the Chapter 2 Bookstore.
What does the Bible say about operating a retail store inside a church?
The bookstore and coffee shop enhance the core purposes God has for our church (worship, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship and ministry) by making great resources readily available and by providing a non-threatening place to connect with other believers and friends who need to know Jesus.
What about “working on the Sabbath?”
First, Jesus taught that: “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” He was “deeply distressed” at the “stubborn hearts” of the legalistic Pharisees who refused to “do good” on the Sabbath (Mark 2:23-3:6, NIV). We believe that it’s better to be like Jesus and to attempt to meet the needs of people – even on Sundays.
Second, we believe that it’s not biblical to equate “the Sabbath” with “the Lord’s day.” While every Christ-follower should embrace the creation principle of six days of work and one day of rest, the Sabbath regulations of the Old Testament law no longer apply for Christ-followers. Colossians 2:16-17 teaches clearly that the dietary laws, feasts and Sabbaths of the old covenant were “a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ” (NASB).
Third, from a practical perspective, Sunday has long been a “work day” for many of our pastoral, program, custodial and food service staff at Ingleside. All have another day off during the week, but Sunday is a day we gladly serve.
Why does the Chapter 2 Bookstore charge full retail on some items?
MSRP, or manufacturer’s suggested retail price, is what most every retailer uses as a standard of pricing. We are happy to offer great sale pricing on many items in our store, but not all items are discounted in the same way. Join our frequent buyer program to save about 5% on your purchases (see above for more details).
How can I serve in the Chapter 2 Bookstore?
We would love to hear from you! Please contact us at 478.477.2508 or by email.
Tickets
How many tickets can I purchase at one time?
The maximum that can be purchased in one transaction is 10 tickets. In order to purchase more, you will be required to make a subsequent transaction.
Will there be wheelchair accessible seating?
Yes. There are 20 wheelchair accessible seats available to concert goers who require the assistance of a wheelchair. These tickets will be available for these persons along with 1 companion seat for each wheelchair accessible ticket. These tickets are only available through the Chapter 2 Bookstore. Call 478.477.2508 for more information.
Is sales tax charged, or are other fees charged?

Why do you serve Starbucks?
When we began the cafe ministry at Ingleside one of the questions we asked was, “what coffee roaster is known widely for exceptional quality, brand recognition and customer satisfaction?” We chose to partner with Starbucks Foodservice for those reasons. By providing quality coffee in a Christian environment, we’ve been able to look past the label and allow God to work in the lives of people who would not otherwise have stopped in. Our cafe has proven to be a powerful tool to reach our community, and our volunteer leaders have a built in opportunity for ministry as they put on their green aprons, pick up a towel and serve.
Who owns the Cornerstone Café?
We are owned by Ingleside Baptist Church.
