Parent Visitation

Parents are always welcome to visit the WPS floor, however for security purposes and so as not to disrupt the classes we ask that you notify the teacher before visiting the classrooms.

When you drop off or pick up your children (inside or in the carpool line) please do not use this as a time to have a conversation with the teacher. If you need to speak with your child’s teacher, please schedule a conference or wait until all students have been dismissed.

Tardiness

It cannot be overemphasized that prompt arrival and regular attendance (unless ill) are important to your child’s school year and the establishment of future habits of regularity. The student who is late for arrival at school misses a portion of that day’s learning activities.

Clothing

• Dress your child in loose, comfortable clothing.
• Sandals and jellies are not safe to play on the playground and are not suitable for P. E. Please have your child wear tennis shoes.
• Long dresses are discouraged for regular school days.

Messages

Please send all messages in writing and pin them to the outside of your child’s school bag. We cannot accept verbal statements from children concerning changes in carpool.

Birthdays

Birthdays will be celebrated in the classroom at snack time. If you would like to bring a special snack for your child’s birthday celebration, please let the teacher know in advance.

Chapel

• Chapel Time is held on the first Monday and Tuesday of each month.
• Chapel is normally held in the Worship Center.
• This is the one time that all of the classes will be combined.
• Different special guests from our church staff share with the children each month.

Field Trips

• The 3K, 4K, and 5K classes will have field trips to various locations throughout the year.
• Parents will get information on each field trip in advance.
• Parents will be needed to provide transportation. Please let your child’s teacher know if you are interested in participating.
• All children 5 years of age and under are required by law to be in a child passenger restraining system approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
