At Ingleside, the summer promises to be spiritually significant.  I want you to know about, participate in, and pray for the ministry and missions that will occur.  Here’s a summary: June 3-7 Xtreme Week (Vacation Bible School) June 9-14 Sessions Tour (Student...

Leadership Matters

Over the first two weeks in May our Nominating Committee met to select new nominees who will be considered for service as Overseers and Deacons. As I left the meetings, my heart was deeply grateful for the quality and strength of the leadership God has given our church across the years. And, I’m convinced that one of the reasons that we have had strong leadership is because we have a good selection process.  It includes congregation-wide input, consideration by a Nominating...

When our church began in 1951, there were 203 people who made commitments as Charter Members.  They said, in effect, “I’m all in.  Count on me.  I want to be part of this church family.” As new members were...

That Church, This Church, My Church

There’s more than one way to refer to and relate to a church.  Consider the following perspectives. That church.  “Yes, I’ve heard about that church,” a person might say.  “I’ve heard that church has great ministries for children and students.  I’ve heard that church is really committed to missions.  I’ve heard that church has spirit-anointed musical worship and solid biblical teaching.” But have you ever been there?  Have you ever checked it out and...
