3 Words: Thanks, Plan, Commit

Three words are on my mind and heart as I write today.  They are:  thanks, plan, commit.

Thanks.  As Beverly, Meredith, Molly, and I have reflected on this past weekend, our hearts have been filled with gratitude.  What a joy to celebrate 25 years with our Ingleside church family!

We recognize that few churches and pastors have the privilege of celebrating a quarter century together.  So, for every expression of love and affirmation at this significant milestone, we say “thank you.”  Words seem inadequate to convey how deeply grateful we are for the “partnership in the gospel” we have shared across the years.  And, we are confident that, by God’s grace and for God’s glory, the best is yet to come!

Plan.  As I look across our fall calendar at Ingleside, I am excited about the opportunities for outreach, growth, and service. Here are four dates that I hope you will put on your calendar.  Make a plan now to be part of:

  • Fall Family Festival on Wednesday night, October 1.  A fun, family-friendly event that’s perfect to introduce a friend to Ingleside.  Sign up to serve here.
  • Marriage Conference with Gary Chapman on Saturday, October 18.  God is honored as we build strong, healthy marriages.  More information and registration are here.
  • Missions Conference.  Our annual “Acts 1:8 Weekend” is November 7-9.  Put it on your calendar now and ask God to expand and deepen our commitment to “going with the gospel.”
  • Georgia Baptist Convention at Ingleside.  On November 9 through 11 we will host more than 1,000 representatives from Baptist churches across Georgia, and our worship arts teams will be leading in worship on Sunday night, November 9.  Plan now to be part of that great service!

Commit.  If you’ve been attending Ingleside a while, I hope you will soon take the next step and commit to membership in our church family.  The next membership class is this Sunday, September 14, at 4:00 p.m.  More information is here.

It’s a great privilege to make this journey with you, and I am honored to be your pastor and friend.
