Are you a bridge builder? Fully devoted followers of Christ eagerly embrace their role of building bridges to people who need to know the Lord and need to be connected to his body, the Church.
Bridges of love and friendship – across which we share the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ – are built in many ways.
Relationships. The most natural place to build a bridge for the gospel is in the relational network that we already have: with relatives, with people at work, with people at school, and with people in our neighborhood.
I hope you are regularly asking God who is already in your relational matrix that he wants you to influence for Christ. Is there someone with whom you should begin to build a bridge?
Events. Another way we build bridges to our community is through events and programs designed intentionally to connect with those beyond our church family.
One such “bridge building” event at Ingleside is our Fall Family Festival. It’s scheduled for Wednesday, October 19, from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. We anticipate welcoming hundreds of boys and girls and their families to a wholesome, happy time of food, fun, games, and fellowship.
Why do we have such an event? It’s all about building a bridge to our community.
Serving. Would you consider serving as a volunteer at the Fall Family Festival? We need you!
Two training dates are available: Wednesday, October 12, at 7:45 p.m. in the Chapel, and Sunday, October 16, at 5:00 p.m. in the Dining Room. You may register to be a volunteer and for the training on our Ingleside church website.
I’m deeply grateful to be part of a church that’s focused on building bridges to our community – for God’s glory and for the sake of the gospel. And I’m convinced that the best is yet to come!
Your Pastor and Friend,
