Going with the Gospel…All Summer Long

pastors-blog-7-25-19

Though we send Inglesiders to go with the gospel throughout the year, the summer affords us several unique mission opportunities. I know you will celebrate with me that the gospel was proclaimed in the following places around the world:

  1. Myrtle Beach – Our Student Sessions choir of 49 students and leaders shared the gospel through outdoor concerts and an arts camp held at a local church.
  2. Macon – 48 high school students and leaders did gospel-sharing ministry in our city for a week. Several children at the morning VBS in a local apartment complex confessed faith in Christ!
  3. Ukraine – A group of 10 adults led a creative arts camp in Odessa in partnership with a local church and International Mission Board missionaries.
  4. New Orleans – Middle schoolers and their leaders, 28 in all, led a vacation Bible school for a local church and engaged in a number of spiritual conversations in public parks.
  5. Haiti – Serving in two local villages, a team of 18 high school students and leaders taught the gospel through a Bible school in the morning and afternoon.
  6. Salt Lake City – In partnership with a North American Mission Board church plant, 35 high school students and leaders prayer walked, did door-to-door evangelism, and ministered in the RV park where they stayed.
  7. Portland – This group of 9 partnered with Patrick Grant and Woodstock Community Church to put on a weekday soccer camp for almost 40 children. Most of these families were unchurched.

All told, 197 people participated in these trips! You may also enjoy seeing video recaps that were produced for many of them. You can find those at the Missions Ministry Facebook page here.

Welcoming a new Middle School Pastor

I’m excited to say that Wil Fason begins his tenure as Ingleside’s next Middle School Pastor this Sunday. He is coming to Ingleside after serving five years as the Associate Pastor for Youth at First Baptist Church in Dublin, Georgia.

Wil was born in Dublin and is married to Babbs. They have two children: Hatcher (3) and Hadley (8 months).

He earned a Bachelor of Middle School Education degree from the University of Georgia (2010) and a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina (2015).

Please join me in welcoming Wil and Babbs to our team and pray for their family as they transition to a new church home.

Consistent with our planning and past communication, this hire allows Justin Nalls to become our Teaching Pastor and continue to serve as the Next Generation Team Leader.

There is much to give thanks to the Lord for. He has done great things and will continue to do more than we can imagine!

In the Spirit,
