I Made a Mistake

lemonade from this lemon

I made a mistake.  I’m sorry.

Sometimes when you lead a group, someone on your team makes an error.  And, if you are a good leader, you take responsibility for your team and say, “We made a mistake.  I’m sorry.”

In this instance, however, there was no “we” involved.  I made the mistake.  It’s my responsibility, and I’m sorry.

This past Saturday, I inadvertently sent my “A Chapter a Day” daily comment on Scripture to the several thousand people on our weekly, Inside Ingleside e-newsletter mailing list.  We try our best to honor your inbox by not sending unsolicited, unexplained emails.  In this case I didn’t.  I checked the wrong box, and I’m sorry.

Perhaps, however, lemonade is being made from this lemon.

As a result of the error, several of you apparently read the comment on 2 Peter 3 and have now signed up to receive the daily “A Chapter a Day” encouragement to abide in the Word.  If you would like to join us, you may sign up by clicking here.

At some point in the future, we may send you a “three-day trial” of “A Chapter a Day.”  But if we do, it will be clearly marked and explained.

For now, we are glad you keep up with Ingleside through the weekly e-newsletter.  We hope you will continue to do so.  For the out-of-the-blue email blast this past Saturday, however, it’s all on me.  I’m sorry.

Thanksgiving Celebration

If you are in town on Tuesday night, November 22, plan now to be part of a great Thanksgiving meal and worship service at Ingleside.

The buffet meal (which includes turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings) begins at 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, Dining Room, and Multi-Purpose Gym and will be served until 6:45 p.m.  It’s $7 for adults, $5 for children, and a $21 maximum for a family.

Though not required, it would help us make proper preparations if you could let us know you are coming to dinner by making a reservation here.  Last year almost 400 folks joined us for dinner, and this year we will have seating and food for 600.  We hope you will invite friends and family and celebrate God’s faithfulness over a great meal at Ingleside!

The worship service will be in the Worship Center at 7:00 p.m. and will include great music, a Thanksgiving-oriented message, and the Lord’s Supper together.

Children and students (ages 5 and above) should plan to join their parents in the Worship Center for this special Thanksgiving service.  Childcare is provided for those 4-years old and younger.

Every good gift in our lives comes from the Lord, and we should give him thanks.  I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night, November 22!
