I hope you are making plans now to be part of our Acts 1:8 Weekend – it’s our annual world missions conference.

Watch the short video below to find out what it’s about and how you may participate.

We will welcome missionaries from around the globe in gatherings throughout the weekend of November 3-5.

It all kicks off with a Celebration Dinner on Friday night.  Saturday morning is the World Adventure for kids.  Saturday night there are multiple Connection Dinners in homes across our community.  Sunday morning missionaries will be sharing in Sunday School classes.

More information and opportunities to register for the Celebration Dinner and Connection Dinners may be found here.

Join me in praying that the Lord will use these days to expand our vision and deepen our commitment to going with the gospel, to making disciples, and to planting churches – all for the glory of God!

Pastor Search Prayer Team

As our Pastor Search Committee is meeting and interviewing candidates to become our next Lead Pastor, we want to undergird the entire process with earnest, united prayer.

To that end, our Overseers recently put in place our Pastor Search Prayer Team to spearhead our search-related prayer efforts.

The Pastor Search Prayer Team is led by Nicole McCormack (Chairperson), and the members of the team are Hannah Chan, Kari Dobson, John Gowan, Kim Jones, Stanley Johnson, and Josh Smith.

This team has produced a “Pastor Search Prayer Guide” that will be in each worship folder this Sunday, October 28.  Additional copies will be at the Welcome Desks in the Gathering Area.

The Scripture says: “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” (James 5:16b, ESV).

So get a copy of the “Prayer Guide” and pray every day for the Lord’s wisdom and guidance in our Lead Pastor search.

I’m grateful for God’s faithfulness in providing for our church across the decades and I’m confident that he will be faithful during this season of pastoral succession.
