Budget Town Meeting and Staff Update

Dr. Justin Nalls, Lead Pastor

Budget Town Meeting

Our annual budget approval process always includes a “town meeting” where all Inglesiders are invited to hear about the proposed budget, ask questions, and offer suggestions as our budget for the coming year is formulated. This year’s budget “town meeting” is Sunday afternoon, June 29, at 4:00 p.m. in W-200.

A budget is really about vision and mission. It’s how we plan to fund the work that the Lord has given us to do. As we put together a budget each year, the fundamental question is, “How do we best steward our resources in order to make disciples – as many as possible, as mature as possible?” Every expense – including specific ministry areas, missions, church planting, personnel, and facilities – is made for the purpose of making disciples.

So, I hope you can be here on June 29 as we discuss funding the mission!

Staff Update

Our High School Pastor, David Dargel, has recently accepted a position at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville, North Carolina, as their next Student Pastor. David’s last day on staff at Ingleside is today.

David has served on our team since November 27, 2022, and has faithfully led and ministered to high school students and their families during his time at Ingleside.

Please join me in thanking David for his ministry at Ingleside and congratulating him on this new endeavor when you have an opportunity.

The search for our next High School Pastor has already begun. Please be praying for that process. As always, we are asking the Lord to provide the right person as soon as possible.

Organizational health expert Patrick Lencioni states in his book, The Advantage, that a top priority for a healthy organization is to build a cohesive leadership team. Or, as Jim Collins puts it in his book Good to Great, you need to get the right people on the bus. That’s more than a good suggestion from leadership books. It’s an idea actually found in Scripture and not limited to staff members.

Paul wrote to Titus, “This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you…” (Titus 1:5). A significant part of Titus’ leadership as well as the effectiveness of that church, was getting the right leaders in place. He went on to provide the qualities needed in those leaders in order for their leadership team to effectively accomplish the work the Lord had given them.

I am thankful for all the leaders that the Lord has provided to our church, both staff and non-staff. We are very blessed to have so many quality leaders in every area of our church and to have such healthy partnerships in the gospel!

With the affection of Christ,
