Come Into His Presence With Singing
Psalm 100:1-2 says, “Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!” On Sunday evening, during our Night of Worship, we did what Psalm 100 says to do. I am thankful for everyone who was there and for those who led us in such an amazing time of enjoying the Lord’s presence as we worshipped him.
Of course, every Sunday when we gather as the church, we have a “morning of worship.” We sing, pray, and hear God’s word read and taught. So whether it’s a Sunday evening or a Sunday morning, or any other time we’re together for worship, let’s continue to be unapologetically passionate because our God is infinitely worthy!
Change In Our Staff Structure
As you may know, our staff is organized into four teams: Disciple-Making Team, Next Generation Team, Operations Team, and Worship Arts Team. Beginning next week, on Monday, September 1, we will add a fifth team – the Membership Team. Mark Hudgins will be the Membership Team Leader / Membership Pastor. For now, other staff on that team will include the Assistant to the Membership Pastor and the Wedding Coordinator.
Mark’s responsibilities have not changed, so you can continue to relate to him just as you have been. I am incredibly thankful for all that Mark does for our church family.
Why make this change? There are two main reasons. First, on an organizational level, this will allow Mark to relate more immediately to the Lead Pastor’s office, which will be beneficial given his role. Second, it will bring more balance to the size of our current teams.
New Soundboard
In April, our church approved the recommendation from our Overseers that we spend up to $2,100,000 to invest in upgrades of critical systems in our Worship Center, including replacing the sound console, platform and house lights, and window shades.
I am happy to report that the new soundboard was installed this week and will be used on Sunday morning! Work on the lights and shades is moving forward, and they should be installed later this fall.
With the affection of Christ,
