Connecting with Our Community

Connecting With Our Community

At Ingleside, we want to make disciples – here, there, and everywhere. Part of making disciples “here” – in Middle Georgia – is to connect with our community and to serve others in the name of Jesus. Of course, as we do, we always want to look for opportunities to share the good news about Jesus with everyone that we can.

So, I want to make sure you are aware of some of the things we are doing in order to connect with our community.

Cherry Blossom Festival

We are excited to provide a Diaper-Changing tent at the Cherry Blossom Festival this year. Our tent will provide a comfortable, safe place for parents to change their babies’ diapers, feed them, and rest amid the festival’s busyness. Volunteers will greet, track supplies, and look for opportunities to invite people to Ingleside. Sign up here to serve our community through this great outreach opportunity with your friends or small group today!

This year, our Palm Sunday concert is an official Cherry Blossom Festival event. You can see their website here. The concert itself will be similar to what it has been in previous years – beautiful, Christ-exalting anthems and hymns presented by our Chapel Choir. Our prayer is that the connection to the festival, including the additional promotion, might help us see more and more people come and hear the truth about Jesus.

Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia

We now have on our campus a collection bin for the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia. It is located near Riverside Drive in the parking lot of our shopping center. When we reached out to Macon Rescue Center about the possibility, they said, “How did you know this was a need? We were just praying about this last night. We have needed a collection site in that area.” I pray that it meets a need and helps this ministry in our area.

International Mission Board

Even as we strive to have a gospel impact on our own community, we also want to be part of what God is doing around the world. As you are aware, we recently gave to four projects through the International Mission Board. We have received notes of appreciation from various missionaries, but we also received one this week from the Chief Advancement Officer of the IMB. It reads in part,

Your entire gift will be used to reach the millions who have little or no access to the gospel. You make it possible for your IMB missionaries to evangelize, make disciples, and multiply churches throughout the world. Thank you for your generosity. We are blessed! The nations are blessed!

I am thankful to the Lord for a gospel-oriented, mission-advancing church! And I am thankful for the ways that he is using us – here, there, and everywhere!

With the affection of Christ,
