June Dates

As we look ahead and plan for the summer, I want to make sure you have some dates on your calendar. I also want to give you a brief report from our church plant partner in Portland. First, the dates:

Sunday, June 8: Membership Class and Missions Orientation. Both classes begin at 4:00 p.m. No registration is necessary. In the membership class, you will learn all about Ingleside, have a chance to ask questions, and have the opportunity to join our church. In the missions class, you will learn about missions and be prepared to go on Ingleside mission trips. Come in the east entrance to the Worship Center and someone will be there to greet you and show you the way.

Sunday, June 15: Father’s Day. I hope you can join us for worship as we celebrate and bless fathers in all of our Sunday morning services. We will also be led in musical worship by students (6th – 12th grade) who will have just returned from the Sessions Tour mission trip.

Wednesday, June 25: Church Picnic. The picnic will be under the big tents on the west side of our campus. The meal begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by worship through music, the Lord’s Supper, and baptisms in Lake Ingleside. If you want to be baptized, reach out to one of our pastors or email us at baptism@ingleside.org.

Sunday, June 29: One service only. We will gather in the Worship Center at 10:30 a.m. for worship. Babies – 4k are encouraged to be in our Preschool Ministry. We will not have any other age-graded programming. We will also follow the same pattern each Sunday in July.

Sunday, June 29: Budget town meeting. At 4:00 p.m. in room W-200, you will have a chance to hear about the proposed budget for the next fiscal year, ask questions, and offer suggestions. The Overseers approve the budget in July, our church votes on the new budget on August 28, and the new budget year begins on October 1.

Woodstock Community Church

This past Sunday, I was able to worship with Woodstock Community Church in Portland, OR, and spent time with their pastor, Patrick Grant. As you may know, Ingleside is the “sending church” for Patrick, so we have supported him and Woodstock for several years, both through giving and sending short-term teams.

I am excited that Woodstock continues to grow as more people place their faith in Jesus and find a church family. The day I was there, a young lady from the community simply walked into worship with no connection other than she knew a church was now meeting in her neighborhood. Such “walk-ins” are not uncommon and are warmly welcomed and have a chance to hear the gospel.

The people of Woodstock Community Church are very grateful for Ingleside’s support. I want you to know that your generous giving through Ingleside is making a difference in Portland!

With the affection of Christ,
