Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, ESV)

John 3:16 isn’t a typical “Christmas” Bible verse, but it expresses a truth that is inseparable from what we celebrate at Christmas:

“For God so loved the world…

Isn’t it amazing that a holy God would love people who have rebelled against him? And that in his love, he took the initiative to rescue sinners?

that he gave his only Son…

God loved the world so much that he sent Jesus. Jesus’ birth, which we celebrate today, is an expression of God’s gracious, incomprehensible love. But not only did God send Jesus into the world, but he also sent him to the cross (and Jesus willingly went). This is why he came – to save sinners!

that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Because of what Jesus has done for us, all who repent of their sin and believe in him will not perish but will have eternal life!

If you have not placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and your Savior, I pray that you will today. I pray that you will receive God’s amazing gift of eternal life. If you want to talk about that, contact us by clicking here.

If you are already in Christ, I pray that today will be filled with joy and worship as we celebrate the coming of our Savior!
