One Year Anniversary and A New High School Pastor
On July 1, I will have been the Lead Pastor of Ingleside for one year. As I reflect on the past year, my heart is filled with joy and gratitude. “The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance” (Psalm 16:6).
I am grateful to the Lord for allowing me and my family to be part of this church. We are incredibly blessed. And I am thankful to you for your love and encouragement, for your commitment to our mission, and for our partnership in the gospel. It truly is a joy to be your pastor.
As we look forward to year two together, I am also thankful that the leadership of our church has encouraged me to take a study break each July. Stepping away from the daily responsibilities will allow me to recharge – spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. I will spend focused time in prayer and study, seeking the Lord’s direction for the coming year. I will also visit and learn from other churches and connect with pastors and other leaders around our state.
Day-to-day leadership of our staff will be provided by our Executive Pastor, Andy Johnson. Other Ingleside pastors will preach in my absence:
- Sunday, July 6: Andy Johnson, Executive Pastor
- Sunday, July 13: David Peterson, Discipleship Pastor/Disciple-Making Team Leader
- Sunday, July 20: Stape Patterson, Young Adult Pastor
- Sunday, July 27: Wil Fason, Middle School Pastor/Next Generation Team Leader
I plan to be back on Sunday, August 3.
New High School Pastor
I am excited to share with you that Ryan Wood will serve as our next High School Pastor. Ryan will begin work here on Monday, July 28. We are grateful for the Lord’s provision and timing in providing Ryan as a new addition to Ingleside.
Ryan grew up in Gray, Georgia, graduated from Georgia College and State University, and holds a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ryan is married to Ashley, and they have three young children. He is currently the Students, Families, and Missions Minister at First Baptist Church in Fort Payne, Alabama.
As you have the opportunity, please join me in welcoming Ryan to Ingleside!
Tim and Beverly McCoy Update
As you are aware, my predecessor, Dr. McCoy, and his wife, Beverly, thought it best for our church that they not attend Ingleside for at least a year after his retirement. That has allowed our church time to adjust to the new season that we are in. While I am very grateful to the McCoys for their personal sacrifice for the good of our church, I am also glad that it has now been a year, so we may begin seeing them around Ingleside later in the summer!
With the affection of Christ,
