Serving Our Community

Serving Our Community

At Ingleside, one of our desires is to serve our community in the name of Jesus. That happens in lots of ways. Some of that serving is done by individual members of our church as they give their time, talents, and resources to care for individuals and support various ministries.

At other times, our church serves our community in more organized, coordinated ways. For example, hundreds of Inglesiders recently loved our community through our Macon Impact week. Our Middle and High School Ministries have regular “mission nights,” during which they go out and serve people in our community and tell them about Jesus. Each year, we collect stockings filled with Christmas gifts and an explanation of the gospel that goes to children in our city. Through Kid Sessions – our Worship Arts program for kids – children go out once a year to share the love of Christ through song and conversation at a residential facility.

The month of May brings a different opportunity to serve our community by hosting high school commencement ceremonies.

  • This past Monday night, we hosted the Tattnall Square Academy Commencement in our Worship Center.
  • Tonight, we will host the Covenant Academy Commencement in our Worship Center.
  • On Saturday, we will host the First Presbyterian Day School Commencement in our Worship Center.

At each commencement, Ingleside volunteers and staff serve as greeters and ushers, others serve in the bookstore and coffee shop, and others serve on our production team (sound, lights, video). All those who serve allow us to provide a warm welcome to thousands of people, including some who may have never been on our campus.

In addition to being a good neighbor, we also want to be faithful gospel-sharers. At the beginning of each ceremony, one of our pastors provides a welcome, shares the gospel, and invites those in attendance to come back on a Sunday morning.

It’s yet another way, then, that our church family uses our time, gifts, and facility to serve our community in the name of Jesus and carry out our mission to make disciples!

With the affection of Christ,
