The Tim and Beverly McCoy Endowed Scholarship Fund
On Sunday, June 30, Dr. Tim McCoy retired after serving as the Lead Pastor of Ingleside for nearly 35 years. Dr. McCoy served faithfully and with excellence, and our church continues to enjoy the benefits of his leadership.
As one way of expressing our gratitude to Dr. McCoy and Beverly, our Board of Overseers committed to helping establish a scholarship fund in their honor and with their input. That fund, The Tim and Beverly McCoy Endowed Scholarship Fund, has now been established at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where Dr. McCoy earned both a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He has remained connected to his alma mater over the years, including serving on the Board of Trustees (2016 – Present).
The seminary will administer the scholarship fund in accordance with the policies of the seminary’s Board of Trustees Financial Board. Scholarships will be awarded annually to assist qualified men and women pursuing a master’s degree. Priority will be given to 1) men of exceptional promise who aspire to serve as the lead preaching pastor of a Southern Baptist church and 2) men or women of exceptional promise who aspire to serve as missionaries with the International Mission Board. Recipients will be identified and will be willing to interact with Ingleside as requested for the purposes of encouragement and mutual edification in the gospel.
