Here Connects to Everywhere.
This won’t be the first, or the last, time you see the phrase at Ingleside, “Going with the gospel; here, there, and everywhere!” Each time we hear and see this phrase, it is a reminder of a powerful promise and command from Scripture in Acts 1:8. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The promise of God’s presence and power is clear and exciting! The command is also a promise. We will be witnesses! Our daily actions provide evidence to a watching world that we follow Jesus. These promises are not only to individuals. These promises apply to us—together. I’m also thankful that the actions we take here at Ingleside, together, can have an impact around the world—from here, to everywhere! Here are a few examples of what we can do together with others who follow Christ.
Together with Others
One of our primary partners to accomplish our mission of “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God” is the International Mission Board. Recently, the IMB passed along a report of some of the work that has been accomplished over the past year. Together, Southern Baptists helped sustain more than 3,500 missionaries and their 2,700 children across 150+ countries. These missionaries saw great fruit for their faithful service:
- 2,066,251 people heard the gospel
- 196,497 became new believers
- 29,937 were baptized
- 7,697 new churches were planted
- 29,018 leaders were trained in church planting
- 225,578 people were discipled
A significant portion of every gift to the Lord through offerings at Ingleside is sent to the International Mission Board to fund the work of these missionaries around the world!
