Happy Mother’s Day!

Dr. Justin Nalls, Lead Pastor

Happy Mother’s Day!

God tells us to “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12, ESV).

Proverbs 31 says, “a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (v30b, ESV). Indeed, her “children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her” (v28, ESV).

According to the Bible, children are a precious gift from the Lord. Being a mother, then, is a wonderful, important, God-given role.

A mother who fears the Lord and lovingly raises her children in the truth is a great gift to her children and is to be praised.

So, this Sunday, as part of our worship, we will recognize, honor, and pray for mothers in each of our worship services.

And as has long been our tradition, we will also have Parent-Child Dedication this Sunday. We will celebrate with parents who have recently welcomed a new child into their family. Those parents will make a commitment to raise their children in the truth, and our church family will make a commitment to partner with them as they do so.

It is going to be an exciting, meaningful, joy-filled day. I hope to see you for worship – with your mother, if possible – at Ingleside this Sunday!

Serving Young Families and Reaching the Next Generation

We are praising the Lord for all the young families who continue to call Ingleside home. For some perspective, in the last year, 62% of people who joined our church were under the age of 45. This Sunday, we will have 26 babies as part of our Parent-Child Dedication. In fact, we currently have so many preschoolers on Sunday mornings that we very much need to add classes.

While it’s very exciting that we continue to reach another generation, we now need additional volunteers to serve those children and their parents.

Specifically, we need about 10 more people to serve in Preschool Ministry each Sunday morning.

We also need about 10 more people to serve in the Children’s Ministry.

At Ingleside, every member is on mission. So what about you? Are you in a season of life in which you could change some of your patterns to help us reach another generation?

If so, please connect with our Preschool Minister, Jennifer Mitchell, at [email protected] or our Children’s Pastor, Christian Sprout, at [email protected].

We will have a Next Generation Team staff member in the Gathering Area on Sunday morning. You can stop by to ask any questions you might have and to learn more about the specific needs.

I am thankful for everyone in every generation that is currently part of Ingleside. And I am thankful for all who are currently serving. But let’s not stop. Let’s keep going. Together, let’s go after another generation for the glory of God!

With the affection of Christ,
