Leaders Learning Around the Globe

David Peterson, Executive Pastor
Something New

After a great positive response to one-day clinics in the spring, this fall we are excited to launch two new Recreation Ministry opportunities for 3rd–8th graders: Upward Pickleball and Upward Volleyball for Girls. In these Christ-centered leagues, kids and students will learn teamwork, make new friends, practice fun skills, and receive uplifting coaching. Registration is open for the six-week season that begins in August. More information here.

Here Connects to Everywhere.

Hear it again: “Going with the gospel: here, there, and everywhere!” We use this phrase to communicate the high value we place on obedience to the command in Scripture in Acts 1:8, which says, in part, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” This was the command and promise of Jesus. As followers of Christ, our witness happens in our daily activities locally, in our home, our neighborhood, and our city. But that shouldn’t be the limit of our witness! We can have an impact to “the end of the earth” at Ingleside. In fact, sometimes the actions that we take “here” directly connect to “everywhere”! Here’s another recent example to celebrate.

Surplus to Sub-Saharan Africa

Earlier this year, we celebrated another year in which giving exceeded expenses. A portion of this surplus was given towards specific gospel-sharing needs around the world, including theological education in sub-Saharan Africa. Recently, we heard back from our IMB partner who received this gift. They said thankfully, “Because of your generosity to this ministry, more than 100 theological educators and institutional leaders from 22 nations gathered for the fifth meeting of the Africa Baptist Theological Education Network.” This gathering brings together Baptist leaders who often serve in challenging and isolated contexts to strengthen theological education rooted firmly in Scripture. Imagine the impact on multiple churches and communities as these leaders go back home afterward.

God uses your generosity here and now to have an impact further and forever!

God Bless,
