Looking Back and Looking Ahead
Celebrating 75 Years
On October 4, 1951, a group of people met in a home on Ridge Avenue to pray about the possibility of planting a new church. On December 23 of that year, Ingleside Baptist Church was officially constituted.
On Sunday, October 4, we will celebrate our 75th anniversary in all of our services. In various ways, we will look back to remember the Lord’s faithfulness and to give thanks. I am excited that our Pastor Emeritus, Dr. Tim McCoy, and his wife, Beverly, will be with us in each service. We will have a chance to hear from Dr. McCoy about some of our history and how the Lord has brought us to where we are today.
In addition to our regular programming and worship services, throughout the morning in the Gathering Area, we will have food, fellowship, old pictures, and a new wall display celebrating our history.
I hope you will plan to be here for a great day of celebration!
NEXT Series
October 11 – November 15. After looking back on October 4, the next Sunday we will begin a new study looking forward and focused on what’s NEXT. This study will focus on the intersection of mission, vision, and generosity:
- Sunday, October 11: “Let’s Tear the Roof Off!”
- Sunday, October 18: “Buildings Matter”
- Sunday, October 25: “Building the Church Matters More”
- Sunday, November 1: “We Build Together”
- Sunday, November 8: “Building Beyond Ingleside”
- Sunday, November 15: “Before We Build…”
This will be an important study in the life of our church. I want to ask you to prioritize being here each of those Sundays. If for some reason you are not able to be here, I want to ask that you watch the livestream sometime that week (services are on our website, our YouTube channel, and our Facebook page).
Groups will be working through a curriculum that goes along with the messages. Children and students will participate in various ways. This will be an exciting time for our church to share a specific focus and grow together. I am looking forward to being on this journey with you!
