Church Family,
Celebrating the Church Picnic
One of my favorite events at Ingleside each year is the annual Church Picnic. Last week was no exception! I rejoiced to see so many in our church family gathered in the name of Christ for fellowship around a great meal, worship together in song, prayer, and the word, remembering Christ through the Lord’s Supper, and with public confessions of faith through baptisms. The evidence of God’s blessing was all around!
An event like our Church Picnic requires a great team of staff and volunteers working together to 1) raise the tents, 2) set out the chairs and tables, 3) bring in the inflatables, 4) cook the chicken, 5) run the electricity, 6) set up the sound, 7) cook the BBQ, 8) keep the ice cream cold, 9) set out the trash cans, 10) and much more! All this—just to get started! In all this—God is glorified, and we are blessed.
It’s a blessing to pray over teams going on mission trips around the world. It’s a blessing to join our voices in songs of praise to a great God! It’s a blessing to hear the truth proclaimed. It’s a blessing to remember the sacrifice of Jesus with the bread and the cup. It’s a blessing to celebrate each baptism. Be encouraged as you watch this video celebration from the night!
Grab A Towel
Just a few weeks ago, Pastor Justin highlighted the example Jesus gave us to serve others from John 13 with the encouragement for everyone at Ingleside to “grab a towel” and find a place of service. Have you found yours yet? Many of our ministries kick off the next season of ministry in August. I hope you will find yourself in an area of need that benefits others or an area of passion that best utilizes your gifts for the glory of God and the good of many others.
If you are still looking for your place to serve, then stop by one of the “Grab A Towel” tables and sign up. Or find more information and details about other places to serve on the Serve page on our website.
Happy Birthday!
As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States this Saturday, I’m so thankful for God’s grace to us! Let’s take the opportunity to 1) pray for God to bless our country and provide its leaders with wisdom, and 2) resolve to be “salt and light” each day.
God bless,
