Welcoming A New Children’s Pastor

I am happy to share with you that this past week, I invited Christian Sprout to our team to serve as our next Children’s Pastor, and he has accepted. Christian’s first day will be September 7. He and his wife, Raegan are expecting their second child at the end of this month, so please be praying for them in the week ahead as they welcome a baby into their family and prepare for a move. I am confident that there are great days ahead for our Children’s Ministry as we continue to make disciples of the next generation!

I am very thankful for all the volunteer leaders in our Children’s Ministry who have helped us continue to offer excellent ministry to children during an interim season. I am also thankful for the staff leadership of Jon Kitchens and Maggie Copeland during this season.

As we move through the month of July, there are several trips that I want to make sure you know about.

Kids’ Camp. This Saturday, 70 3rd-5th graders and their leaders leave for Kids’ Camp in Talladega, Alabama. They will have worship services, small group Bible studies, rec time, and late-night activities.

Middle School Mission Trip. This Sunday, 37 middle school students and leaders are headed to New Orleans for a mission trip, which is the largest group we have ever sent on this trip. They will have opportunities to share the gospel with children in the mornings and in a variety of settings each afternoon.

High School Mission Trip. We currently have a team of 27 high school students and leaders on a mission trip in Peru, which is our first international mission trip for high school students in several years. They are partnering with International Mission Board missionaries and local churches to share the gospel in a variety of ways throughout the week.

Cape Canaveral Mission Trips. As you may be aware, this summer we are sending 6 mission teams to Cape Canaveral to partner with Canaveral Port Ministries. Those teams have an opportunity to share the gospel with seafarers from all over the world. I am grateful for the 47 people on those 6 teams who are going with the gospel!

With the affection of Christ,
